Traditional media Poster

Image
Traditional media Poster To critically analyse this poster i would consider this to be my weakest design of my project because the text that i had to include takes away from the work that i have done to manipulate the eyeshadow and product from appearing as a standard poster. This was the hardest poster that i had to create because I had to do addtionally research on how to use the software of photoshop to achieve my desired design. For this design I mainly relied on using the pen tool and selection tool to make the slices in the palette.

Social Media

Image
Social Media Poster This is the most contemporary design i have create in my project,  for the design process I wanted to incorporate more texture within my designs as the other designs were lacking in different presentations of eyeshadow swatches. Moreover, this is a social Media poster so it has to be a standout poster to draw attention away from other posts.

Mobile designs

Image
Mobile Design  As this design is a mobile design I consider the same layout would not be appropriate for a mobile scale. Therefore, i have used the same images composed differently and the navigation bar symbolically represented with a drop down menu option rather than a full navigation bar. I have still incorporated the banner in the header of the mobile version of the web page to still have a consistent design for the online presence.

Page 1 The standout feature of the page of the webpage is the eyeshadow palette cover which i had to create as separate poster and then to insert it on an image of a closed eyeshadow palette. Initially, this poster/ image was intend to be the logo for the brand, however, i thought the design was to complex and was not suited to be a logo. The rationale of using a combination of the moon, eyeshadow pigment and cartoon icons was to create a unique appearance of the packaging for the product and to continue to explore the theme of explosion of magic with eyeshadow pigment. As previously stated in my project specification I identified that typography is a weakness of mine, therefore, i have tried to create my own font style when writing "black magic" on this poster. To practice and development my creative skill.

Webpage  The rationale behind this design is it common for beauty webpages to feature posters to advertise different makeup looks that you can create using the product. As the brief was for a product launch I assumed it is a new product and would be beneficial from a brand perspective to have as many posters as possible promoting the brand. This contemporary design features the consistent colour scheme to create a cohesive project. I have used images of eyes because the product is an eyeshadow palette, also, to connote the theme of black magic because eyes represent the third spiritual eye. I have also followed the current trend of displaying natural elements with design with the purple crystal as a continuation of the spiritual and magical motif of the project.

Web Page Design

Image
Webpage  This is the completed design of my webpage homepage, I have incorporated conventional aspects of a modern webpage, by presenting a header which includes a navigation bar. and footer that has social media for the customers to engage with the brand The rationale for design aspects: header: i have inserted a moon background to consistently represent the brand theme of black magic as, a full moon is typically associated with magic, but i have lowered the opacity so it does not make the design  predictable. mainpage content: I have minimale text on the webpage homepage because i want it to be eye catching for potential viewers, as well as, i wanted the poster and the product to be the standout feature of the webpage. Additionally , I have used  quadrilateral shapes to convey a contemporary  aspect of the webpage and to conform to current design trends

Review of photoshoot

Evaluation of photoshoot  I conducted the photoshoot using the knowledge i had learnt from my research into product placement and basic skills needed for photography. to conclude i do not think my photoshoot was successful because the images were either over exposed or saturated, and i have decided against using them because they will affect the overall look of my projects. as well as, I did not have enough colours to make the desired look or effect that i would need to include into my posters because of the previous preliminary preparations I had a clear idea of what I wanted to create for each poster.

Research into photography

Research Photoshoot From researching into existing product placement posters, I thought it would be beneficial to do additionally research into how to conduct a professional photoshoot so I can use a combination of primary and secondary images within my finished projects .e.g. posters  and websites. By watching videos online to learn how to do a product placement photoshoot, and to refresh my memory on basic photography skills. Failed posters

Image
Development process of failed posters  I have decided against continuing to design these posters because I could already see the end result would not be up to the standard that i would expect to produce at this stage. I think the combination of the palette and the swatch of the eyeshadow were clashing and was not aesthetically the look i was trying to portray for the product launch of Zuri Cosmetic eyeshadow palette because i want to have a clear contemporary design.

Introduction to creative project

Introduction to creative project : Designed focussed brief The creative project that I will undertake is a product launch for an eyeshadow palette. As a point of research, I analysed existing eyeshadow palettes from cosmetics brands to comprehend trends. Moreover, to understand consistent conventional features that were used to advertise the product a prominent trend that was presented was on posters of the product depicting eyeshadow as a pigment. Therefore, demonstrating a beauty trend of organic appeal by incorporating organic elements and ingredients into poster designs to appeal to ideal audiences.
